The anniversary celebration of

the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum

was held in Covina,CA USA



LOS ANGELES - The non-profit H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum held a grand celebration for its first anniversary on June 28. The celebration started with an indoor ceremony, and over 1,000 guests from all over the world came. In the ceremony, Dr. Brian Tyan, President of the museum, received the Grand Collar of Honor from the Academy of Letters and Arts of Portugal, the highest honor the prestigious institute has ever issued, and many other congratulatory certificates on behalf of the museum. Dr. Tyan also made a donation to the Covina Social Model Recovery Organization to help many homeless women and children to receive the therapy and treatment that they need. The president made a speech in the ceremony in which he wishes the United States of America to be strong and prosperous and all people to be happy. He also explained the museum’s mission of raising moral quality and purifying people’s minds as well as the efforts it has made in the past year.


The ceremony was followed by a big festival held at the Heritage Plaza Park in downtown Covina. There were a lot of entertainment programs including live bands, live DJ, the traditional Chinese lion-dance, Shaolin Kung-Fu show and the magical Sichuan face-change show. There were also many charity sales booths for arts and crafts, discounted clothes, face-painting and a balloon artist. The museum provided gifts worth thousands of dollars for raffle drawings.


In commemoration of this anniversary celebration, the art museum also held a K-5 art contest with a theme of conserving the environment of the earth. There were four categories by grades: K, 1 -2, 3-4, and 5. The first-place winner of each category won $250 in scholarship, the second- and the third-place winners each won $100. The winners were announced in the ceremony, and all the 200 or so participating art works were on display during the festival.


The anniversary celebration also made the debut of a special post mark of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum approved and issued by the US Post Office that uses the logo and the full name of the museum in design to recognize and praise the outstanding contributions to human’s philosophy, culture and art by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. The post mark shows the support and the positive acknowledgement to the museum by the US Postal Office. The tremendous contributions to the whole world made by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III have become the common spiritual wealth of all human kind. This postal mark is not only beautiful but also special, and is the first choice of all philatelic collectors.


The mission of the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is to promote the cultural and art accomplishments made by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. It is hoped that through viewing the creations of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, people can learn the high moral standards of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and follow his teachings of helping others and benefiting the society altruistically in order to make our world more prosperous, peaceful and civilized. The museum also participates in all sorts of charity activities, including making donations to the city library and to the COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors).
